Gazprom Cuts Gas to Ukraine

MOSCOW--Russian state gas giant OAO Gazprom suspended gas deliveries to Ukraine on Monday, making good on a threat it has held out for weeks and sparking concerns about possible gas shortages in Europe if the dispute continues.

After a final round of late-night talks mediated by the European Union to resolve the impasse ended in failure, the oil giant cut to zero shipments for Ukraine, but continued to ship the gas destined for export across Ukraine to its customers in Europe.
